Rooftop photo of Beltramo's Liquor in Menlo Park

OH, SWEET CHILD OF WINE: Rooftop Photo Mural

At P11, we love thinking outside the box. We also appreciate local history. We combined both passions in the outside mural for the roof deck for a new commercial office building developed by Four Corners Properties. It features a Menlo Park legend — Beltramo’s Liquor. It lives on in this eye-catching photo mural P11 created and installed in the exact spot the store was located. Here’s the back story. Beltramo’s Wines & Spirits was a local institution owned and operated by the Beltramo family in Menlo Park since 1882. According to the family, Giovanni Beltramo emigrated from Asti, Italy bringing with him cuttings of Nebbiolo and Barbera grapevines. After working in vineyards near what is now Cupertino, he began cultivating his own vineyards in Menlo Park. Later, Giovanni Beltramo started a wholesale and retail wine and spirits business. In 1935 the business moved to 1540 El Camino Real where it became and remained a town landmark until it closed its doors in 2016. Photo courtesy of Menlo Park Historical Association.
